Making it Happen in Hartford
American Accents: A Festival of Fine Arts and Crafts Saturday, August 9 2008 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Willowbrook Park
|
Situated along the banks of the Rubicon River in beautiful
Willowbrook Park, American Accents features over 100
craftsmen and artisans offering all handmade items. Now in its
23rd year, this annual festival has become a beloved tradition for
Hartford and the surrounding communities.
There is something for everyone: yard art, beaded and
gemstone jewelry, wooden accents and furniture, photography,
paintings, needlework art and clothing as well as handmade
soaps and spicy dip mixes! Get a jump start on your holiday
decorating at one of the Christmas or Halloween booths. Don't
forget to stop for lunch or a snack, provided by the Hartford Lions
Club. Local musicians provide a special background
accompaniment to a perfect day in the park!
The holiday season gets off to a great start early on Saturday morning,
November 8 at Hartford Union High School with the 24th Annual Great
Hartford Craft Exposition. Come early for breakfast at the annual Lions
Pancake Day, opening at 7:30 a.m. in the Cafeteria, then take a
leisurely stroll through the Craft Expo. Finish your day off downtown
watching the Christmas Parade, which begins at 3:00 p.m.
Everything you could possibly want for your holiday decor will be
available, including the ever-popular snowmen figures, elegant Santas,
and hundreds of Christmas ornaments. There's also plenty of jewelry,
wearable art, delicious candies, American Girl doll clothing, wreaths and
other floral arrangements, as well as many unusual holiday gift ideas.
